The Ma'amir sewage treatment plant, located 15 km south of Manama, Bahrain, was the first STP in the Kingdom to adopt advanced Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) wastewater treatment technology. In 2017, Bahrain's Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning commissioned a two-year project for the operation and maintenance of the facility.
