The Al Dur IWPP is an independent water and power plant project initiated in 2008 by Bahrain's Ministry of Electricity and Water to support the Kingdom’s increasing power and water demand. Located at Al Dur on the south-eastern coast of the country, the plant was built to generate 1,380 MW of power and 48 MIGD of water per day, using combined-cycle gas turbines and sea water reverse osmosis.
